Cats have short and long hair. For Persian, Angora, Maine Coon, or Himalayan cats, they have long hair (Long Hair Cat), so Cat Owners need more effort to care for your favorite cat, such as grooming to keep the cat’s fur soft, shiny and not fall out. All types of cats and cats require wet or dry grooming.
What’s the difference?
Wet Grooming is a type of treatment for cat hair and the skin as a whole that uses water and shampoo, as well as tidying cats from fur, nails, to checking skin, eyes, and ears. Wet grooming needs to be done because it can:
• Eliminates odors, dirt, dead hair & oily skin
• Make cat fur more soft and shiny
• Maintain healthy skin, fur, nails, ears, and teeth.
• Avoid fleas & fungi.
If your cat is not healthy or does not like water can dry grooming, grooming that does not use water, only cleanses the cat’s hair with a wet wipe and then dried. Dry Grooming needs to be done because it can:
• Tidy up cat hair
• Avoid fleas & skin diseases
• Maintain the appearance of your cat every day

Generally, long fur cats need to be bathed every 1-2 times per week to prevent bad odors and also be exposed to fleas and fungi. There are several tools needed to bathe all types of cats with wet grooming, namely:
The type of shampoo that cats need with oily hair like the Maine Coon cat.
If your type of cat is not greasy, you can use any type of shampoo. If the hair falls out too much, it might be allergic to shampoo.
The point is to soften the cat’s fur so soft and shiny so that it is easy to comb.
• Blower (Heat)
After bathing, dry your cat as soon as possible with a blower. Some cats can rebel because they feel uncomfortable with a hot blower.
Try putting your cat in a cage and drying it with a blower (heat) from outside the cage. This prevents your cat from running when it is dried.
After dry, comb the cat’s fur so it doesn’t tangle.
Use a toothbrush to clean the legs and body of another cat whose stains are hard to lose. Brush slowly while giving shampoo, then wash with water when it’s clean.
Use a soft cloth to dry it, so it doesn’t hurt your cat.
Cut the hair near the cat’s eye that is too long.
There are several tools used to do dry grooming in cats, namely:
Long hair combs 1x a day using a wide tooth comb (wide tooth comb). Make sure to comb the part between the legs and abdomen, because usually cat fur is easily tangled.
How to comb and treat long cat hair:
• Combs follow the fur flow.
• The face can be combed slowly so it does not hurt it.
• After the fur becomes smooth, it can be continued by using a comb that is more tightly knotted.
• Cotton buds, cotton, baby oil, and dry tissue
Clean the ears, eyes, and nose. Especially for snub-nosed cats such as Persian Peak Nose cats need maintenance to remove dirt on the eyes 1x a day, Cat Owners.
Use a soft wet cloth to wipe cat fur and dry cloth to dry it.
The advantage of wet grooming is that it makes your cat look fresher, not dirty, and cleaner. The advantage of dry grooming is that it does not require a long time compared to wet grooming. But because it doesn’t use water, dry grooming is more for smoothing cat hair instead of cleaning it thoroughly.
